San Francisco-based Paul Capital Top Tier Investments LLC named Lisa Edgar a managing director of the firm. Prior to joining Paul Capital in 2003, Edgar was part of the asset management team at WR Hambrecht + Co. that focused on new and emerging private equity funds.
Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. appointed Hisashi Hosokawa as a senior adviser in Japan. Hosokawa joined Japan's Ministry of International Trade & Industry in 1964, eventually becoming a special adviser in 1997.
New York venture capitalist Michael Alcamo has launched an advisory business, M.C. Alcamo & Co. Inc. The firm has a specialty in media and communications and focuses on mergers and acquisitions, workouts and restructurings and private equity in the middle markets. The firm launched with five sell-side assignments, a restructuring of a cross-border joint venture, and a private equity platform acquisition in Central Europe. Alcamo was most previously chief executive officer and a founding partner of HPJ Media Ventures Management LLC, a venture capital fund that held technology and media assets.
In New York, Richard Aiello became senior operating executive of private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. Aiello was previously a senior vice president in the strategic investments group at First Data Corp., where he oversaw all merger, acquisition and joint venture activities.
